It changes colour based on both the temperature reached and the duration of contact, allowing you to instantly identify thermal inconsistencies, heat loss or uneven heating in industrial processes. Heat Distribution Measurement Film Thermoscale

Thermoscale is an epoch-making film that enables anyone to measure heat distribution easily by observing variations in density and hue.

Thermoscale 200C

Thermoscale 200C can be used for higher temperatures (150°C to 210°C). There are two types: the roll type and the sheet type.

Thermoscale 100

Thermoscale 100 can be used for lower temperatures (80°C to 105°C).

Thermoscale uses special technology that regulates colour intensity and hue in accordance with heat value to generate a highly accurate depiction of heat distribution over a wide range of heat values. Thermoscale is ideal for applications involving analysis of heat distribution during press, roll, and laminate processes and in drying ovens.

Thermoscale 200C

The extent of colour change depends on the temperature of the heat source and the contact time. Even at the same temperature, a shorter contact time produces paler colours with a blue tint, and the increasing contact time makes the colours deeper with a red tint. Note that the colour change is also influenced by factors such as the type of material on the opposite side (i.e., the non-heat source side), thermal characteristics, contact pressure and air flow, so calibration should be performed under actual usage conditions.

Thermoscale 100

Thermoscale sheets turn black when they come in contact with a heat source. A short contact time produces pale colors. As the contact time increases (at the same temperature), the colors become deeper. Note that the color change is also influenced by factors such as the type of material on the opposite side (i.e., the non-heat source side), thermal characteristics, contact pressure and air flow, so calibration should be performed under actual usage conditions.

How to use Thermoscale

Cut a piece of Thermoscale film to the required shape/length and place it on or inside the equipment.

Operate the equipment in the normal manner to bring the Thermoscale sheet in direct contact with the heat source.

*The non-glossy side should be facing the heat source.

Colour patterning is produced on the Thermoscale sheet in response to heat distribution.

Remove the Thermoscale sheet and observe from the glossy side.

* The colour patterning indicates the heat distribution over the heating surface.
