Dimensional measurement utilising laser sensors encompasses a variety of applications linked to product tolerances, sorting processes, and part recognition systems. The measurement of product dimensions can be conducted through various sophisticated techniques. Whether capturing the precise dimensions of a single point on an object or assessing the full geometric profile of an entire item, these methods provide unparalleled accuracy.

At Techni Measure, we proudly present a range of cutting-edge solutions, including the Q4, Q5, and Q6 laser scanners.

Laser Triangulation

Laser triangulation is a measurement method that dates back to the 16th century. It is a non-contact technique that utilises a laser to measure distances and surface profiles. This is achieved by projecting a laser beam onto a target and detecting the reflected light.

QuellTech laser scanners utilise the triangulation principle to detect the two-dimensional profile of surfaces. Using specialised optical components, a point-shaped laser beam is expanded into a line and projected onto the object of interest. The diffuse light reflected from the laser line is captured by an objective lens at a specific angle and directed to a two-dimensional receiver chip.
