LaserLinc’s FlawSense technology provides a 3D measurement and defect detection solution using laser-line triangulation, unlike traditional 2D camera-based vision systems. It does not rely on colour or visual patterns but measures and analyses 360° of the surface contour in precise detail to detect and report defects at production speeds.
No Shape Error
Products are rarely a perfect circle. Vision systems and micrometres can only measure point-to-point, measuring only six points around the circumference. FlawSense technology measures a full 360°c contour and digitises the product in real-time, creating thousands of points. This allows FlawSense technology to eliminate dead zones and measurement uncertainty.
Fast & Accurate
100% non-contact, real-time in-line and off-line inspection that detects defects as small as 5um (0.0002 in) and reliably detects 20-100x smaller defects than vision systems. It also picks up defects regardless of the colour of the text.
Laser-Line Triangulation
FlawSense uses laser-line triangulation technology for dimensional measurement and detection. This technology is superior to vision systems with its more limited coverage and camera-based inspection, which cannot offer the same level of coverage as FlawSense systems.
